Making A Difference To 30 Families
Out of more than one hundred million Filipinos, nine million rely on unsafe water supplies. In fact, water pollution in the Philippines, and a lack of proper sewage kills 55 people everyday. Diarrhea account for nearly 1.3 million deaths a year among children under five years of age, making it the second most common cause of child deaths worldwide.
Having access to clean water is certainly important. While most of us take this for granted because of the capability to easily purchase clean water, many Filipinos in poorer communities think of water bought from water-refilling stations as a type of luxury. One of the communities that experience this problem is Baseco, Tondo.
We officially launched this project last April 28, 2018 and started serving three (3) families in Baseco. We give 10 gallons of water every week to family beneficiaries. One of the criteria for the beneficiaries is that the household members include children that are five (5) years old and below.
Our realistic goal for 2018 is to serve 30 families in Baseco. We launched an email campaign that started last October 10, 2018. The total support needed is Php 27,000. We target to finish this campaign by November 30, 2018.
As of today, November 21, 2018, we received a total support of Php 29,842.73. All funds that will go beyond the target will be used in 2019 as we will continue to support the families. We are already serving 30 families in Baseco, Tondo.

We are beyond grateful for the opportunity that we can be partners in making a difference to their lives.
